Representatives from more than 30 countries and Japanese authorities gathered in the Japanese city of Yokohama on Wednesday to kick off the Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development.

Footage shows leaders from African countries, as well as Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres gathering for a family picture, minutes before the official opening of the conference by Japanese Foreign Minister, Taro Kono.

The Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development, TICAD 7, is scheduled to take place from August 28-30 under the theme "Africa and Yokohama, sharing passion for the future."
