Instead of listening for the doorbell, soon, you’ll need to listen for a different buzz.

Amazon drone deliveries are expected within months, according to the retail giant.

It’s all about using more ways to fast-track packages.

Amazon thinks it’s possible to deliver packages even faster than one-day delivery with autonomous drone technology.

Here’s proof in a shiny, new video the company is proud to say isn’t simulated.

It might show up at your doorstep before long.

In a blog post, the head honcho who oversees Amazon’s retail business said they’ve been working on drones that can fly up to 15 miles and deliver packages under 5 pounds to folks in less than 30 minutes.

Because of their fulfillment centers and delivery networks, Amazon expects to scale Prime Air quickly and efficiently.

You could say it’s smooth sailing.

Speaking of, the drone can do vertical takeoffs and landings like a helicopter and it’s fully shrouded for safety.

It’s also packed with sensors and algorithms to spot stationary and moving objects like chimneys and helicopters.

The Hill says Amazon’s CEO was all about the idea back in 2013, with the hope of delivering packages by drones within five years.
