Former Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Matteo Salvini joined a protest against the new coalition government in Rome on Monday.
"In a normal country this government would never have been born. A government that is born without agreeing on anything but on the fear and the certainty of not winning the elections," said Salvini.
He added that: "If they try to dismantle what we have built in a year of hard work, dismantling the pension law made in the past and closing the ports, then we will keep them locked up in parliament day and night."
Following an end to the turbulent coalition between the 5 Star Movement and Matteo Salvini's the League, a new cabinet was officially sworn in in Rome, on September 5.
The newly appointed cabinet of Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte is made up predominantly of members of Luigi Di Maio's 5 star movement and the centre-left Democratic Party.
