Following an end to the turbulent coalition between the 5 Star Movement and Matteo Salvini's the League, a new cabinet was officially sworn in in Rome, on Thursday.

The newly appointed cabinet of Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte is made up predominantly of members of Luigi Di Maio's 5 star movement and the centre-left Democratic Party, the most popular coalition partner following a vote from 5 star party members.

Luigi Di Maio assumes the position of Foreign Minster whilst the controversial former Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Matteo Salvini was replaced by migration policy expert Luciana Lamorgese.
