The Civil Defence of Venice was filmed on Tuesday shopping goods to the city's residents, stranded at their homes due to the coronavirus lockdown.
Footage shows Civil Defence members buying products at a supermarket before delivery passing by some of Venice's most iconic landmarks, empty of tourists.
"There are two teams that shop, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. In the morning two other teams deliver the masks throughout Venice. Every day we manage to cover 1-2 of the 6 districts of the city," Isacco Antiga from the Civil Defence of Venice said. He also added that since early March, they have been spending 10-12 hours at work.
