Israeli politics: 'Netanyahu is playing on fear'

The dream of a progressive, socialist Israel set out by its founding fathers has gone. So says Jean-Pierre Filiu, from Sciences Po University, who has written a book about what he calls the end of Zionist dream. It comes as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will soon overtake the time that David Ben Gurion, Israel's founder, spent at the top. That is, of course, if Netanyahu and his coalition parties succeed in the upcoming elections, and he survives the corruption cases lining up against him.
