Thousands of people marched through Majd el-Kurum on Thursday, to protest against the rise of violence in Arab communities and alleged inaction by Israeli authorities.

Schools and public institutions in the town were closed the whole day to allow the population to join the rally.

13 deputies representing Arab communities boycotted the Knesset inauguration ceremony to join the protesters, which was called for following a brawl that erupted in the town on Tuesday, which resulted in two brothers being shot dead, and another man died of his injuries on Thursday.
