Media were stationed by the entrance of the Polish Embassy building in Tel Aviv, on Wednesday, after Poland’s Ambassador to Israel Marek Magierowski was reportedly spat on by an Israeli man.
According to media sources, the man approached the Polish Ambassador, shouted "Polish, Polish" and spat on him. The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon, on a street near the Polish Embassy.
The man was arrested 90 minutes after the incident.
On Wednesday, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki described the event as a "xenophobic act of aggression," on Twitter.
Poland had cancelled a visit of an Israeli delegation to Warsaw to discuss Jewish property restitution this Monday.
