A twenty three year old man from Northern Ireland appeared in court in Dublin on Saturday, in relation to the 39 dead migrants that were discovered in a refrigerated trailer in Essex on Wednesday.

The man was reportedly arrested at the port of Dublin on Friday for an offence unrelated to the Essex lorry deaths, but is considered a person of interest in the case. Reportedly, the presiding judge refused the man bail and he was taken into police custody.

The driver of the lorry, a twenty five year old Northern Irish man named Mo Robinson was charged earlier on Saturday with 39 counts of manslaughter and conspiracy to traffic people as well as other offences in the UK.
