Businessman and son of US President Donald Trump Jr. attended an event pre-launching the sales of luxury condos and mansions in Jakarta on Tuesday. The homes are being developed by the Indonesian builder MNC Land in partnership with the Trump organizaton in two projects in West Java and Bali.
He backed his father, president Donald Trump, who was criticised for an alleged conflict of interest between his post and his global business.
"We could have kept doing deals, [but] we chose to do that. Obviously, the media is never going to give us credit. We've literally said we're not going to do what could have been tens, if not hundreds, of billions of dollars worth of deals. That would've been totally legal to do. We chose to voluntarily put that aside. There's going to be critics, no matter what, because if Donald Trump does something - you know, that's the reality - that we've got news to deal with, usually with the fake news making big news of everything. And no one talks about the opportunity," said Trump Jr.
According to reports, Indonesian businessman and billionaire Hary Tanoesoedibjo, the owner of the MNC Land, has invested $1.7 billion (1.5 billion euros) in the two projects which are set to be completed in stages within three years.
