U.S. President Donald Trump spoke with various officials including those from the Coast Guard, and politicians from some of the states impacted by Hurricane Dorian about the aftermath of the storm while travelling aboard Air Force One on Monday to North Carolina.
He spoke about the Bahamas, saying it had become a "life-saving mission" after parts of the islands were devastated by the then-Category 5 storm.
Trump also thanked the various politicians of their respective states for the work they had done both before, during and after the hurricane.
North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper told Trump that three people had died in the state, two before the storm when trying to board up their homes and one after in a chainsaw accident during cleanup.
