Anti-government protesters broke into and set fire to a business in Hong Kong's Mong Kok area on Wednesday amid wider protests where riot police intervened.
Amid the escalating violence, schools and some businesses were reportedly closed. Some railway services were also suspended. Hong Kong has been rocked by protests sparked by a now-withdrawn extradition bill since March.
The rallies have since evolved into a wider movement against the government, marked by violent clashes between protesters and the authorities.
