The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) reopens its campus on Jan 13, after announcing in November that is would shorten the fall semester due to the social unrest in Hong Kong.

CGTN's He Weiwei visited the campus.

Violent clashes broke out between anti-government protesters and police at PolyU, resulting in a two weeks-long standoff.

The campus suffered damages with a lot of chemicals and self-made weapons left inside but the campus has been cleaned-up. The university tested samples of soil, air, and water, and the result shows it is safe to reopen the campus.
