Hong Kong leader Carrie Lam threatens to step down

Hong Kong's chief executive Carrie Lam has told a group of business people that she had caused 'unforgivable havoc' and would resign if she could.

Increasingly violent protests have been going on for more than 13 weeks - as demonstrators demand for greater democracy and respect for the territory's distinctive status from China.

Her comments became public after a recording was leaked.
