Joshua Bell is a leading American violinist and conductor. He has been nominated at the Grammys five times, winning at the 43rd annual awards for Best Instrumental Soloist(s) Performance (with orchestra), for his Maw's Violin Concerto. In a recent concert at Beijing's National Center for the Performing Arts, he played his legendary Gibson ex-Huberman Stradivarius of 1713, including three pieces: Sonata No. 5 in F Major, op. 24, "Spring" by Beethoven; Sonata No. 3 in C Minor, op. 45 by Grieg; and Sonata No. 2 in D Major, op. 94a by Prokofiev.
