Google blocks Huawei apps from its phones

Google is set to revoke Huawei's access to its Android mobile operating system, in accordance with new sanctions issued by the US.

The block will be a major blow for the Chinese tech company, which relies on the Google-developed Android system to power its devices.

The move comes just days after President Trump signed an order barring US firms from using telecoms equipment made by companies that pose a national security risk.
