Around 10,000 people from all sides of Germany and the world, packed the Hofbrau festival tent in Munich on Saturday, making it the largest of the tents of Oktoberfest, which kicked off at noon.
Nikki, an attendee from California, said she didn't know what to expect ahead of the festival.
"I wasn't expecting any of the carnival aspects, I didn't know what to expect. I think that Munich is really cool."
Matze, an attendee from Hamburg, said, "Because we visit the Oktoberfest every two years, because it is always a blast and it's a lot of fun to party with all the countries, cultures.''
Oktoberfest is marked annually from mid-September to mid-October and is attended by millions of people from around the world. In total there are 14 large tents on-site, where between five to seven million visitors consume around 60,000 hectolitres (1,319,815 gallons) of beer every year.
