Commuters at Frankfurt Central Station shared their feelings about the killing of an 8-year-old boy on Tuesday. Footage shows people laying flowers and candles near the platform.
"That is inconceivable, I absolutely can't believe that something like that happened here. That really hurts, that something like that happened", said one of the passengers.
The child was killed after a man pushed him and his mother in front of a train on Monday. The mother was able to escape, but the boy suffered fatal injuries.
"I am very, very sad. I feel terribly sorry for the parents, for all of us. For all of us. We are parents ourselves. It could happen to my daughter just as well or to someone else", said another commuter.
A forty-year old Swiss-resident from Eritrea was arrested over the attack, after being chased and stopped by passers-by who witnessed the incident.
