German Chancellor Angela Merkel met with Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa in Berlin on Wednesday, to discuss the strengthening of bilateral relations.
Speaking at a press briefing after their meeting, Merkel informed that both leaders discussed intensifying the repatriation of illegal Ghanaian migrants from Germany, adding, "In return, we want to allow more young people from Ghana to study or do a professional training in Germany."
"That's encouraging, dear Chancellor, that that discussion that you should have with her peers here in Europe and in America, to be able to allow the African Union a more forward role in trying to find solution to the crisis in Libya," said Dankwa.
"If that solution is found, it would have an immediate and direct impact on the activities of the jihadis in the Sahel. All of us know that there is a link between their activities and the crisis in Libya," he added.
