Footage filmed on Tuesday morning shows the location where a stolen lorry rammed into traffic in the west German city of Limburg on Monday, which was initially reported as leaving 17 people injured although this number was subsequently lowered to eight.

The driver, who according to police commandeered the vehicle at around 17:20 local time (15:20 GMT), also sustained injuries in the incident and has been arrested.

According to reports, German Interior Minister Horst Seehofer told reporters in Luxembourg on Tuesday morning that it remains "unclear how this act is to be assessed."

Police have not ruled out terrorism as a possible motive behind the incident but also stated that it was routine to arrest any driver involved when an incident results in a high number of injuries.
