The 22-year old suspect, Ali B., confessed to killing the 14-year old girl Susanna Feldman before the Wiesbaden district court on Tuesday.
During the hearing, the defendant reportedly said that he had met Feldman through a mutual acquaintance three months prior to the incident and that the two would spent time together.
The suspect denied raping the girl, claiming that he had a consensual sex with Feldman prior to her killing. He also said that he was not aware of Feldman's age.
Ali B., who arrived in Germany in 2015 as an asylum-seeker from Iraq, is accused of raping and killing Feldman, whose dead body was found on the outskirts of Wiesbaden last year.
According to the indictment, Ali B. is believed to have raped Feldman on the night of May 22-23, 2018. When the girl threatened to go to the police, he attacked her from behind and strangled her. Afterwards, he and another unknown person dug a hole and buried the dead body.
