Protesters gathered near parliament in Tbilisi, Saturday, to protest against police drug searches at two popular nightclubs in the Georgian capital.
The protesters reportedly demanded the resignation of Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili and Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Gakharia.
According to local media, demonstrators expressed their disagreement over the level of force used during the special operation carried out by the Ministry of Internal Affairs at the nightclubs.
One of the protest spokespersons, Baia Pataraia, claimed that the police action “was a huge human rights violation. This is not the way a democratic government should fight against drug use.”
