Around 1,000 'Yellow Vest' protesters took to the streets of Nantes on Saturday, to demand the release of fifteen activists arrested on Friday for reportedly preparing placards for today's rally.

Two groups of protesters converged in the city centre, with unions joining the rally and demanding freedom of expression.

Riot police used teargas to disperse the crowds and reportedly detained at least four protesters, with at least one more reportedly taken to hospital with light injuries.
