The last in a series of four supermoons brightened up the skies over Paris on Wednesday, with the Eiffel Tower complementing the celestial body's shine with its own night sparkle.

The phenomenon occurs when the moon is located on the opposite side of Earth to the sun.

The supermoon, or the 'Flower Moon,' is the second full Moon of spring and was named by the Algonquin tribes of what is now the northeastern United States.
