Prominent Yellow Vest figure Eric Drouet went on trial in Paris on Friday, on allegations of organising 'illegal' demonstrations in the French capital.
Drouet was arrested for failing to declare to authorities two Yellow Vest protests in Paris. They took place on December 22 and January 2.
The Paris prosecutor asked for a one-month suspended prison sentence and a €500 ($565) fine, with a court decision expected on March 29.
Fresh Yellow Vests protests are planned in Paris and across France this weekend.
