Around 700 demonstrators took part in a torchlit procession organised by the 'Paris Pride' cultural association and supported by the far-right youth group Generation Identitaire in the French capital on Saturday.

Participants marched with burning torches and flares as well as flags bearing the coats of arms of various Paris arrondissements.

The march, which honours the patron saint of Paris, Saint Genevieve, has been an annual event since 2005. Generation Identitaire is the youth wing of far-right movement Bloc Identitaire, which started in France in 2003.
