The Foreign Affairs Security Training Center opened its doors, Thursday, November 14, dedicated to training individuals from the Diplomatic Security Service special agents and the broader foreign affairs community for a variety of situations.

The center, which is part of the Department of State’s Diplomatic Security Service, will offer courses such as detecting surveillance, providing emergency medical care, recognizing improvised explosive devices, participating in firearms familiarization and performing defensive driving maneuvers.

The center has three high-speed driving tracks, off-road tracks, explosives ranges, tactical structures and two smokehouses. It is located at the Ft. Picket Army National Guard installation in Virginia.
