Flash Floods Submerge Roads in Spain

Flash floods brought by a large storm swept through the streets of Catalonia, leaving at least one person dead and four others missing, Wednesday, October 23, local media reported. In video obtained by Reuters, water is shown rushing through a street, inundating parked cars and threatening to wash them away. (REUTERS)

READ MORE: Rescuers said they found the body of a man along the coast about 40 kilometers north of Barcelona and that the search continues for the four missing.

Two were swept away by rising waters while in their prefabricated home in the municipality of Vilaverd, near Tarragona.

Officials said the flooding affected 46 roads in the northeastern region, leaving the majority of them closed. (REUTERS)
