The former chief of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation James Comey has agreed to testify publicly about Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential elections. Comey was fired by President Donald Trump on May 9 amid an ongoing inquiry into possible collusion between Russia and Trump's election campaign. The US Senate Intelligence Committee said the testimony would take place after the May 29 Memorial Day holiday.
