Firefighters were seen leaving the Guerite Market in Port-au-Prince, Tuesday, January 14, where a fire tore through many of the market stalls overnight.


READ MORE: In one of the largest outdoor markets in the Haitian capital, the loss dealt a blow to local merchants already reeling from an ailing economy and ongoing political conflict.

The Guerite Market contained hundreds of stalls selling everything from household goods to consumer products, many of which were largely destroyed in the blaze.

Local authorities have yet to determine the cause of the fire. (AP)
