The much-awaited results of the elections in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) are out but France is saying there's a need for clarity about the outcome.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said the provisional results are different from what was seen on the ground.

The election commission declared opposition candidate Felix Tshisekedi as the winner in the wee hours on Thursday.
