European leaders are trying to remind President Donald Trump about the importance of alliances. According to CNN, they are using D-Day commemorations to how alliances result in global peace. Trump’s three days in Britain will include a visit to the Normandy landings and its row of gravestones. Queen Elizabeth II, British Prime Minister Theresa May and German Chancellor Angela Merkel stressed the need to maintain alliances. The Queen said: “The anniversary of D-Day reminds us of all that our countries have achieved together.”
