Germany's Ursula von der Leyen has been working to convince EU lawmakers to approve her as the first female president of the European Commission. To succeed, she needs an absolute majority in the European Parliament. Therefore she made pledges in a letter to reluctant EU lawmakers. Another Brexit extension, a guaranteed minimum wage and expanded unemployment benefits are some of the goals Ursula von der Leyen says she'll pursue if elected tomorrow as European Commission President.
