Former mistress of accused Mexican drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman spoke to jurors during his U.S. trial. Lucero Sanchez Lopez said she was “traumatized” after Guzman escaped one of his safe houses in 2014. According to Reuters, she said she feared her safety during her relationship with Guzman. She said: “I didn’t want for him to mistrust me because I thought he could also hurt me.” Sanchez Lopez recalled a moment when the two were having dinner and he told her that anyone who betrayed him would die.
