Sinaloa cartel chief Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman was convicted in New York in February, and is awaiting what will almost certainly be a life sentence. But in Mexico, cartel violence churns on as cartels jockey to fill the void left by El Chapo's arrest. According to Business Insider, less than two weeks after Guzman was found guilty, at least five banners conveying threatening messages from criminal groups were found in Guadalajara-- stronghold of the Sinaloa cartel's main rival.
