Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman arrived at the St. Mark's Coptic Cathedral in Cairo on Monday to meet the head of Egypt's Coptic Orthodox Church Pope Tawadros II.
Pope Tawadros stated that Crown Prince Bin Salman had expressed his great appreciation to the Copts and invited all Coptic Orthodox clergymen to visit Saudi Arabia.
The unprecedented visit by a Saudi official to the spiritual centre of Egypt's Orthodox Christian community was part of Bin Salman’s three-day visit to Egypt.
It is his first public trip abroad since he was appointed Crown Prince last June.
On Wednesday, Bin Salman will visit Britain and speak with British Prime Minister Theresa May.
After the UK trip, the 32-year-old heir to the Saudi throne is expected to head to the United States.
