Minor clashes erupted as protesters in the Ecuadorian capital of Quito took to the streets on Friday to slam Ecuador's National Assembly’s rule not to decriminalise abortion.

Protesters pushed past police to march to the presidential palace as they chanted.

On Tuesday, the Assembly voted against the reform which would have allowed abortions in cases of rape, incest and fetus malformation.
