The 50th China Longzhou (Dragon Boat) Tournament went into its finals on Sunday in central Chinese city of Changsha.

Fifty teams, 1,130 athletes competed in the tournament, which produced its all 15 champions in Sunday's competition. Liaocheng University became the big winner in the youth category, winning all six programs. In the professional category, Jiujiang Shuangzheng and Nanchang Xiaolanhushan together won five out of the six champions.

Dragon boat race is deeply rooted in Chinese culture and is often linked with celebration of the traditional festival of Duan Wu. In recent years however it has gradually morphed into a professional competitive sport in the country.

Beginning in 2011, the China Longzhou Tournament has made tremendous progress in its 50 runs. The organizers are aiming at developing the tournament into an international event in the years to come.!language=1
