DC Comics is starting the new year by taking a moment to remember an icon and legend of the comic universe.

Marvel Comics co-creator Stan Lee died in 2018, leaving a behind a legacy of characters that trace back to the early days of comics.

In an act of class and courtesy, DC Entertainment has posted a tribute to Lee in the first slate of 2019 comic releases.

The memorial is a black page with the words 'With Utmost Respect from the Distinguished Competition'... "Excelsior!"

Lee died on November 12, 2018, following a battle with pneumonia. He was 95 years old.
