Hundreds of couples carrying AR-15 rifles packed a Unification church in Newfoundland, Pennsylvania on Wednesday. The couples attended to have their marriages blessed and their weapons celebrated as “rods of iron” that could have saved lives in the recent Florida school shooting. Many celebrants wore crowns, some made of bullets. A spokesman for the church said the marriage blessing ceremony had been planned long before the mass shooting in Parkland, Florida. Reverend Hyung Jin Moon said in a statement that the staff of the florida school should have been armed, an idea the President Donald Trump has encouraged. Students from an elementary school near the church were relocated for the day to distance them from the gun touting couples at the ceremony.
