Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Rome on Thursday for a state visit to Italy. Earlier, President Xi was welcomed by his Italian counterpart Sergio Mattarella in Rome. Both leaders spoke at a press conference, saying they hope to strengthen cooperation in culture and economics. Later in the day, President Xi visited a memorial site for Italy's war dead to pay his respects. The country is the first stop on his European tour, which will also include trips to Monaco and France.
