According to Reuters, a Chinese and an American journalist held a debate during a live broadcast.
Liu Xin of state-run English channel CGTN and Fox Business Network host Trish Regan put their short feud to rest during a discussion over trade relations.
Liu had criticized Regan's work during a broadcast on CGTN, which led Regan to call on Liu to hold an honest debate.
During a 16-minute segment, the broadcasters discussed problems at the heart of a growing trade dispute between the US and China, including intellectual property theft, and China's state capitalism.
Liu said that state-owned enterprises are important to China's economy, but it is small compared to the private sector.
Although China holds a state interest in energy, telecoms, and banking, the private sector accounts for 80-percent of Chinese employment.
