A China-construct power plant of Jordan, has completed its Phase IV recently with a capacity of 75 megawatts, and it is located in the city of Zarqa, northeast of Jordan's capital Amman.

According to the Chinese constructor, Shandong Electric Power Construction Corporation, the power plant is a combined cycle expansion project based on the original single-cycle unit, with the generating capacity of about 613.2 million KWH per year, aiming at the efficient use of energy to ease the power shortage in Jordan, where 96% of the energy consumption rely on imports.

As early as 2010, the Chinese constructor has completed Phase II of the project as an engineering-procurement-construction (EPC) contractor for Jordan Electricity Company, which laid a perfect foundation for their continuous cooperation in Phase IV.
