Chinese President Xi Jinping welcomed his Brazilian counterpart Jair Bolsonaro with a ceremony at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Friday.
The Latin American leader's three-day visit is aimed to mark the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
The counterparts discussed trade expansion and bilateral investment, as well as signed agreements in areas such an energy, politics, customs, science, technology and education.
The two leaders also raised the issue of BRICS cooperation with the upcoming 11th BRICS summit to be held next month in Brazil.
This is Bolsonaro's first state visit to China since taking office in January.
