A victory parade for Toronto Raptors was interrupted by gunfire on Monday, causing injuries to two people and many more to flee for safety.
Toronto police said that two suspects were arrested and investigations were ongoing. No motive has been established so far. The injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
The shots were fired near Nathan Phillips Square, the parade's final destination, causing a stampede amongst the panicked crowd. Victory speeches were only briefly interrupted.
An estimated two million people, including Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, were on the streets of Toronto to celebrate the Raptors NBA Finals win.
