In Nigeria's commercial city of Lagos, at least one person has been killed after a multi-storey building collapsed. The building was under construction when it caved in. Several people are believed to be trapped in the rubble. Rescue workers and emergency officials are searching the ruins for survivors. Building collapses are common in Nigeria, and are often blamed on substandard materials and construction companies' disregard for regulations.
