According to a report by Business Insider, on Wednesday, the British government defeated an attempt, led by Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, to prevent a no-deal Brexit on October 31st. The House of Commons reportedly voted against a motion which would have given Members of Parliament the power to pass legislation blocking Britain's next prime minister from crashing out of the EU without a deal in place. Business Insider reports that 12 opposition Labour Party and former Labour Party MPs voted with the government, while over a dozen other Labour MPs failed to record a vote. The defeat reportedly increases the chances of a chaotic Halloween exit and leaves MPs with few chances remaining to intervene against an incoming Prime Minister who is determined to leave the EU one way or the other.
