BRICS economies rally against protectionism

Five of the world's largest emerging economies have rallied against protectionism and vowed to pursue a multilateral approach to world trade despite "significant challenges." The joint declaration by BRICS countries Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, came on the second day of their annual gathering. The five countries reiterated the "fundamental importance of rules-based, transparent, non-discriminatory, open, free and inclusive international trade".
