The bill aimed at blocking a no-deal Brexit has passed the House of Lords and will become law soon.

The legislation requires a delay to Brexit beyond Halloween unless a divorce deal is approved or Parliament agrees to leaving the EU without one by October 19.

Boris Johnson said he would 'rather die in a ditch' than request the extension as he continued to call for a new general election.
