Russian President Vladimir Putin held bilateral talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Brasilia on Wednesday, on the sidelines of the 11th BRICS summit.

Putin noted steady growth in bilateral trade between the two countries, and praised the “close coordination in the international spheres.”

During the two-day event, which runs under the theme 'BRICS: Economic Growth for an Innovative Future', the leaders of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa are to discuss the current state and prospects of cooperation within the organisation, including issues related to economic, financial and cultural cooperation.
